The Windows
When you launch Cue Tracker, it will start with a blank document. The first thing you'll notice is two windows: the document window and the Project Inspector. (There is a third main window, the Cue Details window, which is not visible when you first start Cue Tracker.) These windows provide an interface to the cue list, details pertinent to the whole project, and the details of individual cues, respectively.
The Document Window
This is the main window for each Cue Tracker document. The main part of the Document Window is a table which lists all the cues in the current project, and basic information about each cue: cue number, version, title, start and end times, and status. You can customize which columns are visible in Preferences.
You may notice that only the first five of the status columns (composed, approved, prerecorded, orchestrated, and copied) are enabled when you create a cue. This is because the last four have to do with revisions, and won't apply to all cues. You can enable or disable any status checkbox by double-clicking it (except the recorded and mixed checkboxes; those can only be enabled or disabled in the Cue Details window).
Below the main cue list table is an extended status bar of sorts. This consists of a line of text and two progress indicators. These will update continuously to reflect changes you make as you make them. If you wish, you can hide this status area by clicking on "Show/Hide Status" in the toolbar.
The toolbar lives at the top of the Document Window. Like most toolbars in Mac OS X applications, this toolbar is customizable by right-clicking or Ctrl-clicking on the toolbar, and can be hidden by clicking on the small grey button in the upper right-hand corner of the window.
Document terminology
As you will notice, Cue Tracker is a document-based application. All the standard File menu options (New, Open, Save, Save As, Close, etc.) apply just as they would to any other document. Cue Tracker keeps an undo history; many changes are undoable/redoable using the Edit menu. Also, you can have multiple documents open at once; each will have its own set of windows, which are accessible from the Window menu.
Audio Previews
If you wish to keep track of audio previews of each cue, you can do so by dragging an audio file (in any format recognized by Mac OS X) onto the cue. A blue speaker icon will appear. Click on this icon to play the preview, and again to stop playback.
